Dear Mr Murdoch,

Thank you for your follow-up query regarding how each councillor voted on the proposal to partner with Whanganui District Council in a two-council water services CCO.

To clarify, a division (where each councillor's vote is formally recorded) was not called at the meeting, so individual votes were not recorded in the minutes.

The motion, moved by Deputy Mayor Hoeta and seconded by Councillor Kahukura Hadley-Chase, was:

"That the Council agrees to partner with Whanganui District Council, in a two-council WS-CCO."

When the Mayor put the motion to the Council by calling “all in favour say aye,” several councillors responded in the affirmative. He then asked for any opposed — no councillors spoke — and the motion was declared carried, but not unanimously.

As a result, there is no formal record of how each councillor voted.

I trust this clarifies the matter.

Ngā mihi,
Tasha Paladin
