PIR tax revenue data

Callum made this Official Information request to Inland Revenue Department

This request has an unknown status. We're waiting for Callum to read a recent response and update the status.

From: Callum

Dear Inland Revenue Department,

Kia ora,

I am writing under the Official Information Act to request the following information:
1. The total amount of Prescribed Investor Rate (PIR) tax collected annually by Inland Revenue from KiwiSaver funds for each of the financial years from 2019 to 2024 (inclusive, if available).
2. The total PIR tax collected annually from all Portfolio Investment Entities (PIEs) for the same time period, broken down if possible by:
• KiwiSaver schemes
• Non-KiwiSaver PIE funds (e.g. managed funds, superannuation schemes)

Please provide this information in table format, along with any notes necessary to interpret the figures.

If this data is not already compiled in this form, I would appreciate any available equivalent that meets the intent of the request. If any part of this request is likely to require substantial effort, please advise so I can consider refining it.

Yours faithfully, Callum.
