Statistics on complaints about aircraft noise in the Te Horo area

Dear Kapiti Coast District Council,

I would like to know over the past 5 years how many complaints you have received about aircraft operating over the area forming a box between Te Horo Beach, Te Horo township and the Otaki river.

Ideally this would contain the nature of the complaint, i.e Noise or Low flight and also outcomes of any complaints however number of complaints broken down by calendar year will suffice

Thank you for your request received 24 June 2025 regarding complaints
received about aircraft operating over TeHoro/Ôtaki river. Your request
will be managed under the Local Government Official Information and
Meetings Act 1987 (LGOIMA) (the Act).

We will do our best to get a response to you by 22 July 2025, this being
the statutory 20 working days after your request was received. If we were
unable to respond to your request by then, we will notify you of an
extension of that timeframe.

Your request is being handled by our Customer and Community group, and the
reference for your records is OIR 2425-1406.

If any additional factors come to light which are relevant to your
request, please do not hesitate to contact us so that these can be
considered.

Please note that any information provided in response to your request may
be published on the Council website, with your personal details removed.
