All Submissions on the Te Ture Whenua Māori Reform Bill

Daniel Haines made this Official Information request to Ministry of Māori Development

Response to this request is long overdue. By law Ministry of Māori Development should have responded by now (details and exceptions). The requester can complain to the Ombudsman.

From: Daniel Haines

Tēnā koe Te Puni Kōkiri,

Request for information under the Official Information Act 1982.

The Government is currently facilitating a process of public consultation on the Te Ture Whenua Māori Reform Bill; just recently, submissions on the Bill closed on August 7, 2015.

I would like to request all legal opinions, briefing notes, file notes, submissions, correspondence, minutes, reports, not excluding letters, memo and email correspondence that relate to the proposed reform.

Furthermore, I would like to request details as to how many times, and on what dates, the Minister of Māori Affairs has met with stakeholders to discuss the Te Ture Whenua Māori Reform Bill.

In addition, I understand the Government now plans to begin another round of consultation with Māori land owners; I would like to know who the Government plans on talking to and what the timeframe for consultation is.

I understand the Government will soon begin another round of consultation with a select number of Māori land owners about the Bill.

If you have any further questions about this request, feel free to contact me by phone +64 21 567 696, or email [email address].

Thank you very much for your assistance, I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Ngā mihi and kind regards,
Daniel Haines
