Kia ora,

Under the Official Information Act 1982, I request the following:

1. Funding provided in the 2022/2023 and 2023/2024 financial years
To organisations based in the Canterbury region for:

Emergency housing

Transitional housing

Permanent housing support or placement services

Community or affordable housing development

For each year, please include:

Organisation name

Amount received

Type of funding (grant, contract, etc.)

Purpose or summary of the funded service

2. Forecasted or budgeted funding for 2024/2025
Please include:

Planned or forecasted funding for housing-related services in Canterbury

Funding themes, programme intentions, or regional priorities

Any known or indicative recipients

Spreadsheet or structured data format preferred if available.

– Ministry of Housing and Urban Development requesting, under the Official
Information Act 1982 (the Act), information on funding to Canterbury
organisations for housing support.

Your request has been forwarded to the appropriate officials to respond.
You may expect a decision regarding your request to be sent to you as soon
as possible, but no later than 20 working days from the receipt of your
request. If we're unable to respond to your request by then, we'll notify

Tçnâ koe Nigel,

I refer to your official information request dated 10 April 2025 for
information relating to Funding for Canterbury based housing
organisations. 

As your request is currently framed we might have difficulties in meeting
your request and several questions could likely be refused under different
grounds of the Act, including Section 18(f) that the information requested
cannot be made available without substantial collation or research:

HUD is keen to work with you and provide you with useful information.
 Might I suggest we organise an online meeting/telephone call between
yourself and one of our team to discuss your request, and agree a
refinement and  way forward.  This meeting could likely take place the
week of 28 April 2025.  If you are happy with this approach please reply
and provide your contact details.

Please note that any clarification or refinement of a request is
considered to be a new request for the purpose of calculating the maximum
statutory timeframe for response—see section 15(1AA) of the OIA.
