With regard to the proposed merger of the Law and Business faculties, please provide:
- A summary of all responses to the proposal, including responses to the proposal document and any other public or internal notice of the merger (e.g. email newsletter, press releases, etc), that have been received by any member of the senior leadership team up until the present date;
- Any other analysis undertaken by the university of those responses and any documents or communications developed in response to that analysis.

our response. The University’s response follows:
‘With regard to the proposed merger of the Law and Business faculties,
please provide:
- A summary of all responses to the proposal, including responses to the

Please find attached, document ‘1402 Law and B&E Proposal Review Committee
Summary Report.pdf’ which provides a summary of all feedback and
submissions received by the University during the feedback period (12
November 2024 and 20 January 2025).
‘…and any other public or internal notice of the merger (e.g. email
newsletter, press releases, etc), that have been received by any member of
the senior leadership team up until the present date;
To process your request without engaging in substantial collation or
research, we reviewed communications between the Vice-Chancellor and:
• members of her Office;
• members of the University’s Executive Committee;
• the Dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics,
Professor Watson;
• the acting Deans of the Faculty of Law, Professor
Swain and (subsequently) Professor King; and
• members of the University’s Council,
from 1 July 2024 to 14 March 2025 to make a decision on this part of the
request. Please find attached the following documents:
