DOC employee Angela Scott's visit to DOC Kauri Coast office, and the Hokianga

George Martin Tinker made this Official Information request to Department of Conservation

Response to this request is long overdue. By law Department of Conservation should have responded by now (details and exceptions). The requester can complain to the Ombudsman.

From: George Martin Tinker

Dear Department of Conservation,
On April 22nd 2015 a DOC employee Angela Scott visited me at my home in Whareora to discuss an issue I had raised concerning the whereabouts of some missing family taonga. The meeting was cordial. Ms Scott took extensive notes and informed me she would arrange a meeting between myself, herself and Sue Reed and Karen Paki of DOC to try to settle the matter.
However this would be subsequent to her making a visit to DOC Kauri Coast office to talk to staff there
A week later on 29th April Ms Scott phoned me and informed me she had made her visit and also paid a visit to the Hokianga. Since then I have heard nothing further from Ms. Scott, and Ms Reed has informed me that she knew nothing of the supposed meeting mooted by her fellow staff member.
MY REQUEST: What was discussed and decided at DOC Kauri Coast, in regard to Martin Whanau taonga, and who was involved? Further, why did Ms. Scott need to travel to the Hokianga on DOC business, who did she meet, did she discuss the issue of the missing taonga, and what record was made of this conversation, simply what did they say?
Why did Ms Scott then disappear from sight?

Yours faithfully,

GMTinker
