Notice period for teachers terminated for being unvaccinated

Erika Whittome made this Official Information request to Ministry of Education

This request has an unknown status. We're waiting for Erika Whittome to read recent responses and update the status.

From: Erika Whittome

Dear Ministry of Education,
Please share the information sent to Tapawera School on notice pay in 2021 for terminating employment due to vaccination status.

Specifically, I request the email from Callum Brooker, Employment Relations Advisor on or around 21 December 2021 which goes something like.... "The Ministry's advice to schools is that upon notice of termination, the teacher should be paid two months of regular salary, and their entitled holiday pay on top of this."

I assume there was written advice for schools on education staff who were unvaccinated and the required notice period for pay. Please would you share this written advice as well from Dec 2021 until Feb 2022.

Yours faithfully,

Erika Whittome
