Department of Internal Affairs (the Department) on 3 November 2024.
This email is to advise that we are seeking clarification of your original
request in order for us to respond effectively.
You have requested:
1. Does the department issue the concurrent (second) passports to
citizens?
2. If yes, what is the criteria and procedure to apply? How citizens apply
the concurrent passport?
3. How many the concurrent passports have been issued yearly since 2009?
Could you please clarify the wording concurrent passport are you refering
to an additional passport which is a secondary passport issued as a
supplement to the holder's principal passport.
Please note that, in accordance with section 15(1AA) of the OIA, an
amended or clarified request will be treated as a new request, replacing
the original, and the response date will change accordingly.
