Phillip made this Official Information request to University of Auckland
This request has an unknown status. We're waiting for Phillip to read a recent response and update the status.
From: Phillip
Dear University of Auckland,
I am writing to request information under the Official Information Act regarding the distribution of grades for all papers assessed and graded from 2018 to 2022 at the University of Auckland.
I kindly ask that you provide the number of students who received each grade (A+, A, A-, etc.) for each paper, as well as the total number of students who passed each paper. Additionally, please include the total number of students who sat for each paper.
If the grade data for any paper is not yet available, please leave those entries blank while still providing the grade distributions for the others.
Thank you for your time and effort in gathering this data.
Yours faithfully,
Phillip

Dear Phillip
I refer to your request of 20 September 2024 under the Official
Information Act 1982. The University’s response follows.
“I am writing to request information under the Official Information Act
regarding the distribution of grades for all papers assessed and graded
from 2018 to 2022 at the University of Auckland.”
The information requested for taught courses is attached, subject to the
following:
o The information requested for 2019-2022 courses with low numbers of
successfully completing students is withheld under section 9(2)(a) of
the OIA to protect the privacy of the students to whom it relates.
o The University cannot provide the requested grade distribution data
for 2018 without substantial collation or research - this grade
distribution information is only readily available for the last five
years - i.e. from 2019 onwards. This part of your request is refused
under section 18(f) of the OIA. Neither extending the time limit,
consulting with you, or imposing a charge would remove the reason for
this refusal.
You have the right to make a complaint to an Ombudsman if you are
dissatisfied with this response.
Yours sincerely,
Landon Watt
