Dear University of Auckland,
I am writing to request information under the Official Information Act regarding the distribution of grades for all papers assessed and graded in 2023 and 2024 at the University of Auckland.
I kindly ask that you provide the number of students who received each grade (A+, A, A-, etc.) for each paper, as well as the total number of students who passed each paper. Additionally, please include the total number of students who sat for each paper.
If the grade data for any paper is not yet available, please leave those entries blank while still providing the grade distributions for the others.

receive your request on 2 December 2024 – it first came to our attention
on 23 January 2024, when you followed up about your request. Accordingly,
the maximum time limit for the University’s response for this request was
21 February 2025 and this response has been made within the OIA’s time
limit. Our response follows:
“I am writing to request information under the Official Information Act
regarding the distribution of grades for all papers assessed and graded in
2023 and 2024 at the University of Auckland.

under s 18(d) in respect of the publicly available information and under
9(2)(a) in respect of courses with low numbers of students, to protect
their privacy.

withheld under section 9(2)(a) of the OIA to protect the privacy of the
students to whom it relates.
You have the right to make a complaint to an Ombudsman if you are
dissatisfied with this response.
