The applicant can meet the requirements for applying for a Permanent Resident Visa (PRV) through five methods, namely: Significant period of time spent in New Zealand, Tax residence status in New Zealand, Investment in New Zealand, Establishment of a business in New Zealand, and Base established in New Zealand.

Please provide the number of PRVs approved for each method annually from 2014 to 2024, as well as the number of PRVs approved for each method annually for applicants from China.

Dear Wendy Yang,

 

On behalf of the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment I
acknowledge your email of 2 September 2024 requesting under the Official
Information Act 1982 (the Act), the following:

 

‘The applicant can meet the requirements for applying for a Permanent
Resident Visa (PRV) through five methods, namely: Significant period of
time spent in New Zealand, Tax residence status in New Zealand, Investment
in New Zealand, Establishment of a business in New Zealand, and Base
established in New Zealand.

 

Please provide the number of PRVs approved for each method annually from

We will endeavour to respond to your request as soon as possible, and no
later than 30 September 2024, being 20 working days after the day your
request was received. If we are unable to respond to your request by then,
we will notify you of an extension of that timeframe.
