Dear Brad,

I refer to your request of 2 July 2024. The University’s response follows.
I apologize for the delay.

1. “The number of directly employed staff and their positions who earn
under $26 dollars an hour (excluding all allowance, or overtime rates)”

The information which the University decided to provide is attached. Where
the requested position titles correspond to identifiable staff, their
position titles have been withheld under s 9(2)(a) to protect their
privacy.

2. “The value and expiry date of all current active property service and
catering contracts in which the university has entered into.”

We have approached this request on the same basis as your request for the
same information on 31 January 2024, where your request for “value” was
seeking the University’s annual expenditure on each contract, excluding
contracts with less than $100k in annual expenditure.

The other information requested for catering contracts has been provided
in the table below:

Contract Expiry Date
Urban Gourmet contract for Function and Event Catering November 2024
Montana Catering Auckland Limited contract for Function and November 2024
Event Catering
Montana Catering Auckland Limited Contract for Accommodation November 2024
Catering

It is necessary to withhold the precise figures for the University’s
expenditure for each contract under section 9(2)(j) of the OIA to enable
the University to carry out negotiations without prejudice or
disadvantage.

“The value and expiry date of all current active property service and
catering contracts in which the university has entered into.”

The requested expenditure information for property service contracts (i.e.
maintenance) is commercially sensitive and it is necessary to withhold it
under section 9(2)(j) of the OIA to enable the University to carry on
negotiations without prejudice or disadvantage.
