Car incident - cctv request
Mark J made this Official Information request to Auckland Transport
This request has an unknown status. We're waiting for Mark J to read a recent response and update the status.
From: Mark J
Dear Auckland Transport,
On Friday 10 May, there was a traffice incident on the northbound on ramp to the Southern motorway at Ellerslie/Gt S Road.
We believe the driver of the white ute that was involved in the crash, has submitted a false police report about the people in the car and the driver in particular, and we would like to make sure imagery of that ute, either during or before the crash is not deleted before police view it.
Friday 10/5/24, from about 12:15-12:45pm window.
White double cab ute probably came from the Wilkinson Road entrance to Main Highway, Ellerslie, Akl, turned left onto Main Highway to head towards the motorway. Likely went around the roundabout until the northbound onramp to head into Auckland City. This is where the crash occured.
Any footage of this route, and especially of the motorway on ramp where vehicles ENTER the on ramp, would be great to be either sent to us, or ensured it is saved so that the police / insuance companies can view it.
Yours faithfully,
Mark

Dear Official Correspondence,
I drove through the route described today, and on the Main Highway (Ellerslie) and Wilkinson Road intersection, there are cameras. I do not think this is NZTA, it is quite a distance from the motorway. I believe it would be AT cameras, and would show the vehicle & driver we are looking for.
Please review and let me know if this camera is or is not part of the AT network, and if the footage can be saved for police review.
Yours sincerely,
Mark J

Thank you for your email.
Please see attached map showing where our cameras are located. NZTA have
downloaded footage from our camera (350 Ellerslie Panmure - blue star) and
are working through this. If you are wanting footage from the yellow
diamond on the map (AT cameras), could you please let us know?
