Cancer and Maternal and Neonatal stats since 2019

Matthew Shelton made this Official Information request to Ministry of Health

The request was refused by Ministry of Health.

From: Matthew Shelton

Dear Ministry of Health,

Please supply the most up to date data on cancers, and maternal & neonatal morbidity and mortality statistics, beyond the publicly posted data that seems to be only up to 2019.

Clearly the lag is unconscionable and releasing up to date data will go a long way to informing and hopefully reassuring the NZ public.

Yours faithfully,

Dr Matthew Shelton

Dear hnzOIA,
The refusal is unwarranted. Very few cancer deaths will require a coroner's enquiry. I am asking for raw numbers at the least, plus the diagnosis and age data you will have. You will have the majority of the cause of death codes as cancer deaths are clear at the time. The cause of death is obvious. Similarly, miscarriage and most pregnancy outcomes will not be held up by the coroner, and the data is collected and made available for service providers to audit and plan service delivery

Yours sincerely,

Matthew Shelton

Dear Gaynor Bradfield at hnzOIA,

There is much strong anecdotal evidence from New Zealand and overseas, as well as insurance industry data and chemotherapy expenditure data, all pointing to a very significant rise in cancer incidence, type, rapidity, as well as a change in the demographic towards younger people, starting in 2021. This should have been anticipated following the release of a novel gene therapy using modified RNA designed to stay much longer in the body, produce frameshifted transcription errors resulting in mutant 'nonsense' proteins, and containing promoter code from a known cancer-causing virus, SV40. All this information has been provided to Medsafe and relevant Ministers.

Your previous refusal to provide up to date data is illogical, on the grounds you gave. Hardly any cancer deaths get referred to the coroner, so the vast majority will have been coded already. To withhold important public interest data on these grounds does not instill public confidence in TWO's transparency and trustworthiness. Timely release according to OIA legislation could avoid accusations of any cover-up, for instance.

Under the OIA,

1. please provide all the data previously requested, however raw, up to the present, as previously requested, including still birth and miscarriage data, which never involve the coroner in the latter case, and rarely in the former.

2. please provide any internal TWO and government correspondence regarding this request so far.

Yours sincerely,

Matthew Shelton
