Jennifer Ward made this Official Information request to Ministry of Housing and Urban Development
This request has an unknown status. We're waiting for Jennifer Ward to read recent responses and update the status.
From: Jennifer Ward
Dear Ministry of Housing and Urban Development,
I submit the following questions, which are predicated on the decision to allow building on the Sanctuary Mahi Whenua site at 119B Carrington Road, by ignoring/removing the requirement of the variation 25.4 to the sale and purchase agreement between Unitec and the Crown to preserve the area.
119B Carrington Road
Identified as Precinct 7, Te Auaunga North, in the 4 February 2019 document “A Reference Masterplan & Strategic Framework. NgāMana Whenua o Tāmaki Makaurau & Crown”.
1. On what date was the decision made that more than 236 units (page 105) or 248 units (Page 123) could be constructed in precinct 7?
2. Who made the decision?
3. Who was consulted about the proposal to increase the number of units in precinct 7 before the decision was made?
4. Who was consulted after the decision was made to increase the number of units that could be constructed in precinct 7?
5. On what date(s) were they consulted after the decision was made that the number of units could be increased in precinct 7?
6. On what date was Unitec consulted about the removal of variation 25.4 of the sale and purchase agreement between Unitec and the Crown made in March/April 2018?
7. Who in Unitec was consulted about the removal of the requirement?
8. What Iwi and Kaumatua were consulted about the removal of variation 25.4 of the sale and purchase agreement between Unitec and the Crown made in March/April 2018?
Yours faithfully,
Jennifer Ward

I refer to your official information request dated 30 November 2023 for
information regarding Precinct 7 of the Carrington development.
The OIA requires that we advise you of our decision on your request no
later than 20 working days after the day we received your request.
Unfortunately, it will not be possible to meet that time limit and we are
therefore writing to notify you of a 10 working day extension of the time
to make our decision to 2 February 2024.
This extension is necessary because consultations necessary to make a
decision on your request are such that a proper response cannot reasonably
be made within the original time limit.
You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of
this decision. Information about how to make a complaint is available at:
[1]www.ombudsman.parliament.nz or freephone 0800 802 602.

Dear Ministry of Housing and Urban Development,
I note that a response to my OIA was due by today so it has been left to the last minute to inform us of the time extension.
The new 2 February date now coincides with the closing date for submissions to Proposed Plan Change 94.
I request that in order for us to meaningfully engage with this Plan change that the closing date be extended to allow us time to receive and understand the contents of our OIA request.
Yours faithfully,
