Dear Kāinga Ora–Homes and Communities,

On 9 October 2023 you responded to Mr Murphy under OI 23 434 with regards to a review of Kainga Oras portfolio of homes in the Ruapehu District.

The response stated "In terms of other housing initiatives and plans for the future, Kāinga Ora recently purchased two new builds in Taumaranui to increase our housing stock. There have been no other recent acquisitions or developments in the Ruapehu District"

It went on to say "In terms of future redevelopment plans, Kāinga Ora is proposing to demolish and redevelop five units in Duncan St, Raetihi. There are no other redevelopment projects being planned in the short term"

A resident in Ohakune and member our Society has advised of new activity occurring on Foyle St, Ohakune on a vacant piece of land.

1) Please advise if Kainga Ora has purchased any land/properties/houses in Ohakune since the 9th October 2023 correspondence; or any properties in the past 12 months other than the Teitei S&P.

2) Please advised if Kainga Ora has any agreements with Eves Construction or Rowan Eves or another entity or person to build houses in Ohakune, excluding Teitei Drive.
