From: Ronnie Chow
Dear New Zealand Police,
It is of growing concern that immigrants from Syria,Afghanistan,Iraq, Somalia and other Muslim countries are applying for and getting arms licences. As the application form requires the applicant to state his country of birth, can you provide the information on the number of Muslims or previous residents of Muslim countries have obtained firearm licences?
Yours faithfully,
Ronnie Chow
From: Ronnie Chow
Dear New Zealand Police,
I am concerned by reports of new residents to NZ obtaining firearms licences on the pretext of hunting and/or target shooting, when in fact the intention is to have one or more firearms for personal protection.
My information request is "How many non-New Zealand born persons are issued with firearms licences, per year, for the period 20001/1 to 2013 12/31"
Yours faithfully,
Ronnie Chow
