Under the Official Information Act 1982, I request all advice and correspondence regarding the decision not to extend the lease held by New World Railway Metro for its site at 2 Bunny Street, Pipitea, Wellington 6011.

I also request all advice and correspondence regarding any future leases for the site currently occupied by New World Railway Metro.

Good afternoon Regan, and thank you for your enquiry.

We are declining your request in full under sections 9(2)(b)(ii) and 9(2)(i) – Commercial information of third parties, and Commercial information relating to KiwiRail's business activities.

However, our media statement on this matter can be found below.
KiwiRail and Foodstuffs North Island have been working to negotiate an agreement for some time. It is a commercial space, but we offered a fair and competitive rate.
Unfortunately, we have been unable to reach an agreement.
We are in discussions with potential leaseholders. We cannot currently comment any further on future plans for the site.
