Lorna Madle made this Official Information request to Health New Zealand
This request has an unknown status. We're waiting for Lorna Madle to read recent responses and update the status.
From: Lorna Madle
Dear Health New Zealand,
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to request official information under the provisions of the Official Information Act regarding the process and effects of changing ethnicity details on an individual's ethnicity adjustment score and waitlist prioritization.
Specifically, I would like to know:
1. How long does it typically take for a person's changed ethnicity details to be reflected in their ethnicity adjustment score?
2. If an individual changes their ethnicity details, will they be reprioritized on any waitlist they are currently on? If so, what is the process for reassessing their position on the waitlist?
I kindly request any available documentation, guidelines, policies, or procedures that pertain to these matters. Additionally, any relevant statistical data or research findings related to the impact of ethnicity adjustments on waitlist prioritization would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your response.
Yours sincerely,
Lorna Madle

Tēnā koe Lorna
I am writing in regard to your request asking for the following
information under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act):
1. How long does it typically take for a person's changed ethnicity
details to be reflected in their ethnicity adjustment score?
2. If an individual changes their ethnicity details, will they be
reprioritized on any waitlist they are currently on? If so, what is the
process for reassessing their position on the waitlist?
I kindly request any available documentation, guidelines, policies, or
procedures that pertain to these matters. Additionally, any relevant
statistical data or research findings related to the impact of ethnicity
adjustments on waitlist prioritization would be greatly appreciated.
This email is to let you know that Te Whatu Ora needs more time to make a
decision on your request. The Act requires that we advise you of our
decision on your request no later than 20 working days after the day we
received your request.
Unfortunately, it will not be possible to meet that time limit and we are
therefore writing to notify you of an extension of the time to make our
decision, to 28 September 2023.
This extension is required because the consultations necessary to make a
decision on your request are such that a proper response cannot reasonably
be made within the original time limit.
If you have any questions, please contact us at [1][Health New Zealand request email].
If you are not happy with this extension, you have the right to make a
complaint to the Ombudsman. Information about how to do this is available
at [2]www.ombudsman.parliament.nz or by phoning 0800 802 602.
