Dear Oranga Tamariki—Ministry for Children,

This is now the 3rd follow up request for clarification under the OIA.

On December 6th 2022, 1News published an article by journalist Yvonne Tahana stating that ”It then emerged Tukaki had overcharged Oranga Tamariki by nearly $60,000, which he has since paid back”.

As a result, the overcharging by Mr Tukaki is now public knowledge and there are no longer any privacy issues as the person and amount concerned have been identified. In the interests of transparency additional information detailing the amount should also be made available to the public as it has no material effect on Mr Tukaki’s privacy.

As such, under the OIA I simply request the dates of, and the amounts invoiced for, that make up the nearly $60,000 in overcharged fees.

My clarification request has simply resulted in you resending a payment schedule from Jane Fletcher that specifically states the over charged fees by Mr Tukaki are not included.

Jane Fletcher : “I can confirm there were additional payments made to the Chair of the Board during this period however these were subsequently identified as an overpayment. The Chair is returning those payments to us; therefore, these are not included in the attached schedule”

This has been a straight forward request. Can you please simply provide the actual dates of the work Mr Tukaki invoiced for amounting to approximately $60,000 and not duplicate information.

I trust this request will be completed well within 20 business days to compensate for the obvious mix up.
