Dear New Zealand Defence Force,
In light of white supremacy terrorism threats within NZ and Russian or Chinese influence in NZ.
In the last 3 years.
How many personel have had their security status lapse.
How many personel have lost their security clearance
How many personel have had their security clearance downgraded.
How many personel currently serving have not had a security clearance for more than 12 months
Of those personel who have either lost their security clearance or have had it lapse how many still have access to restricted information
Can you please provide the information in a table format showing firstly nominal numbers then as a percentage of total service. Please also break this down by service ie Army, Navy and Airforce with a total for NZDF.

Dear M Williams,
I refer to your email of 6 April 2023 for information regarding security
vetting. The Official Information Act 1982 (OIA) requires that a decision
on your request be provided no later than 20 working days after the day
your request was received. Unfortunately, it will not be possible to meet
that time limit and this email is to notify you of an extension of the
time to make a decision, to 21 June 2023 .
This extension is necessary because consultations required to make a
decision on your request are such that a proper response cannot reasonably
be made within the original time limit.
You retain the right, under section 28(3) of the OIA, to ask an Ombudsman
to review my decision to extend your request.
