Dear Ministerial Services,

Thank you for the response.

Can you confirm their are no Dog units in Invercargill or Central Otago (i.e Alexandra/Queenstown)?

Yours sincerely,

Harwood Wilson

Harwood,
I would not rely on the accuracy of the information you have been provided as a result of your request. As far as I know, there is a Dog Section based in Invercargill, which is not shown on Table 2. In addition, as well as two Dog Handlers based in Nelson there is also a Dog Section Supervisor based there, which is also not shown on the table, and I suspect the same applies to Dunedin and Invercargill.

Kia ora Mr Wilson

In reply to your email of 28 April 2023, enquiries were made with the
workgroup and it was established that two of the Southern Dog Handlers
were incorrectly attributed to Dunedin, so a revised table is as follows:

Dog Section Trainee Dog
District Location Dog Handlers Supervisors Handlers
Southern Dunedin 3 1 1
Southern Invercargill 2 1 -

Police apologise for this error and thank you for drawing this to our
attention.

Kind regards, Michelle
