KiwiRail

Good afternoon Patrick

Apologies for the delay in responding to your query.

KiwiRail has looked at the Compton Street level crossing in relation to the works being undertaken at Laghmor Road, and the intersection improvements are being made. There is a concern that the number of vehicles and pedestrians may increase at the Compton St level crossing.
However recorded observations show that vehicle use of the Compton St crossing is low, with most vehicles using the Viaduct.

Further monitoring of this site will take place once the Laghmor St works have been completed.

We do not have any crash data for this crossing - i.e. a search of our ORA system which monitors incidents does not contain any record of crashing at this crossing.

Kind regards
Dave
