Dear University of Otago,

Please provide the following information relating to admission into the MBChB and BDS programmes at the University of Otago for 2023:

1) The grade statistics for the general(excluding maori/minority, rural entry,etc) Graduate entry including the mean, median, upper quartile, lower quartile, maximum and minimum (weighted)GPA.

2) The thresholds used for UCAT test.

3) If the GPA has been influenced by the COVID-related grade bumps and online exams over 2020 - 2023 period.

4)The number of applicant in the 2023 cycle and the offer being given out for general graduate entry.

Further to my email to you of 13 February 2023 with our response to your
information request of 11 January 2023, it has come to my attention that
some of the data we provided to you was incorrect regarding the UCAT
thresholds for the 2023 MB ChB programme. To clarify, where UCAT is used
for entry, the thresholds for the 2023 MB ChB programme are set as
follows:

 

o Verbal Reasoning: threshold set at or above the 20^th percentile
o Situational Judgement: threshold set above the lowest 10^th percentile
o Scores for Decision Making, Quantitative Reasoning and Abstract
Reasoning were not considered.

 

I apologise for any inconvenience or confusion this may have caused.

 

As noted to you in our response of 13 February, we will be in touch with
the remaining information you have requested once this information has
been confirmed and is available.
