Road Cones Per Capita
Jessica Smith made this Official Information request to New Zealand Transport Agency
The request was successful.
From: Jessica Smith
Kia ora New Zealand Transport Agency,
I was traveling overseas when a Spanish gentleman commented that New Zealand is the "land of the cones".
Many kiwi's comments on the excessive road cones on our streets, however I didn't realize it was a unique New Zealand issue.
Under the official information act, to the best of your ability.
1. Does NZTA directly source orange road cones, or is it though subcontracters/government contracts?
2. What is the price of a road cones? Individually/in bulk
3. What is the road cones per Capita in Nz? How does this compare to international OECD standards?
4. Can you provide any and all policies relating to the precurement and placement of road cones?
5. How many complaints per quarter were made about road cones in the last 5 years?
6. Is there evidence more road cones increase pulic safety?
7. What are the road cones alternatives NZTA is looking into?
8. Does NZTA have a policy around road cones and climate change?
9. Do road cones reduce ram raids?
Looking forward to your response. ^^
Ngā mihi,
Coad Rones.
