I Brown made this Official Information request to New Zealand Police

The request was successful.

From: I Brown

Dear New Zealand Police,

Please provide the following information:

1. The number of lawyers (i.e. not sworn officers) employed as prosecutors by the New Zealand Police as at 1 July for the years 2017-2022.
2. The number of sworn New Zealand Police staff members working as prosecutors as at 1 July for the years 2017-2022.
3. Please also provide the above numbers as at 1 July 2020 and 1 July 2022 but broken down into the various court clusters as defined by Legal Aid.

For the avoidance of doubt, if a person working as a prosecutor is both admitted as a barrister and solicitor and is also a sworn Police officer, please include them with the numbers of sworn staff members.

Yours faithfully,

I Brown
