Subject: Official Information request - Correspondence with MP Barbara Kuriger through parliamentary email address regarding family members' charges of animal cruelty offences

Dear Ministry for Primary Industries,

A Radio NZ article yesterday states that leader of the opposition Christopher Luxon "would not be drawn on questions over whether Kuriger used her official email address of National Party letterhead in the dispute", the dispute in question being the "Kuriger family's dispute with MPI" surrounding 2018 charges against Barbara Kuriger's son Tony and husband Louis for animal cruelty offences:

I would like to know if any of the communication Barbara Kuriger has had with MPI about this dispute has taken place between MPI and her parliamentary (or any .govt.nz) email address, has been signed off with letterhead or a signature relating to her office, or indeed if she has drawn attention to or represented her office in any way in communication with MPI about this personal matter.

If such communication exists, and if the privacy act allows provision of the contents this communication (noting that this would be with a parliamentarian, not a member of the public), I think the voting public would be concerned and would like to see it.
