Induction for Elected Members

Ben Woodgates made this Official Information request to Whangarei District Council

The request was successful.

From: Ben Woodgates

Kia ora Whangārei District Council,

It is my understanding that newly elected Mayor and Councillors are given an induction to make sure they have the knowledge need to represent their community on Council.

This induction may include (but is not limited to), induction packs, personal welcome and orientation communications, workshops and activities, team building exercises, media training, legislative briefing, standing orders training, and direction setting.

With a new set of Councillors soon to be inducted after the 2022 local elections, I am interested in this induction process.

Specifically, can you please provide all documents that:

a) may be, will be, or have been shared with newly elected members as part of their induction, after the 2022 local election

b) relate to workshops or activities held for newly elected members as part of their induction, after the 2022 local election, including (but not limited to) schedules & run sheets, content outlines & notes, and information for facilitators

Ngā mihi,
Ben Woodgates
