Ordering Moderna's Bivalent vaccine

Athina Andonatou made this Official Information request to Pharmaceutical Management Agency

The request was successful.

From: Athina Andonatou

Dear Pharmaceutical Management Agency,
I wrote to MOH regarding Moderna's bivalent vaccine and was advised that it was your organization that from the 1st July 2022 would be responsible for vaccine purchases. https://fyi.org.nz/request/20257/respons...

So I will ask the same questions here:
Is Pharmac looking at purchasing COVID-19 vaccine made by Moderna that targets two coronavirus variants (known as a “bivalent” vaccine)? If yes, please provide me with the following documents:
1) How many doses have been ordered?
2) Cost per dose?
3) Criteria used to assess whether to purchase or not?
4) Scientific studies used to support purchase?

Yours faithfully,
Athina
