make a decision on your request are such that a response cannot reasonably
be given within the original time limit, the University has extended the
time limit for your request until 4 October 2022 under section 15A(1)(b)
of the OIA. This is the new maximum time limit for the University’s
response; we will respond to your request as soon as reasonably
practicable. You have the right to make a complaint to an Ombudsman if you

I refer to your request of 29 August 2022. The University’s response
follows.

 

“How many students have attained a postgraduate clinical psychology degree
from your tertiary education institution annually over the past five
years?”

 

This part of your request is refused under section 18(d) of the Official
Information Act, as the information requested is publicly available at the

“How many placement positions have been available to postgraduate clinical
psychology students at your tertiary education institution annually over
the past five years?”

“What is the number of students who have undertaken a placement as part of
a postgraduate clinical psychology degree through your tertiary education
institution, annually, over the past five years?”

 

The University has two postgraduate clinical psychology programmes: the
Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Psychology (PGDipClinPsy) and the Doctor
of Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy). A student enrolled for PGDipClinPsy has
to carry out satisfactorily such practical or clinical work as the Head of
School of Psychology may require and a 1500-hour supervised internship..
The DClinPsy requires three 200-hour supervised placements (2 are
community based and one in the psychology Clinic on campus) and a
1500-hour supervised internship. In the past 5 years the University has
had only had one student complete the PGDipClinPsy as this is mainly for
students who already have a doctorate (students with a master’s degree
prefer to complete the DClinPsy). The information requested is attached.
