I refer to your information request dated 11 July 2022 made under the
Official Information Act 1982 (Act). You have requested a mark and grade
distribution for the 2022 LAWS302 Jurisprudence test.
Subject to the below comment, please find attached a breakdown of final
marks achieved in the 2022 LAWS302 Jurisprudence test.
o Given that only four students failed the LAWS302 Jurisprudence test
(i.e. received a grade of FD or FE), we have determined that it is
necessary to withhold the marks and specific grades for these students
to protect their privacy and wellbeing. This is consistent with
section 9(2)(a) of the Act. We consider that withholding this
information is necessary to protect against the identity of these
students being determined or inferred, and their personal information
(i.e. their marks) being disclosed. We consider that good reasons
exist for withholding this information and this is not outweighed by
other considerations which would make it desirable, in the public
interest, to make the information available.
I trust you will find this information helpful.
We note your right to seek a review of these decisions via a complaint to
an Ombudsman. However, we would welcome the opportunity to discuss any
concerns with you first.
Ngā mihi
Richard Hogg
