Dear Wellington City Council,
The WCC Planning and Environment Committee of 9 June 2022 includes consideration of item 3.1 Approach to Speed Management. This report includes the statement that:
"27. Officers have assessed nine options (Figure 2) for speed management were assessed using a cost benefit analysis. ...
28. A cost benefit analysis was used to understand the relative costs and benefits of the options. The costs included allowances for signage, traffic calming and maintenance. The benefits considered improvements to safety and increases in vehicle travel time
from slower speeds (disbenefits). A summary of the Benefit Cost Analysis Report is included in Attachment 4."
1) Can the WCC please provide a complete copy of the full Benefit Cost Analysis Report (including any appendices) referred to in paragraph 28?
2) Can the WCC please provide a copy of the detailed Benefits Calculations for each of the Nine Speed Management Options considered in the Speed Management report?
3) Can the WCC please provide a copy of the detailed Cost Calculations for each of the Nine Speed Management Options considered in the Speed Management report?
4) Can the WCC please provide a copy of any documentation associated with any communications (emails and/or meetings) between the WCC and the Greater Wellington Regional Council (or Metlink) on the proposed Speed Management Options?
5) Can the WCC please provide the number of deaths per year due to crashes on city streets for each of the past 5 years?
6) Can the WCC please provide the number of serious injuries per year due to crashes on city streets for each of the past 5 years?
If any of the requested information is held in electronic form, it is preferred that it is provided in its complete and original electronic format.
