Death Certificate statistics issued 2018-2022
R Bailey made this Official Information request to Statistics New Zealand
Statistics New Zealand did not have the information requested.
From: R Bailey
Dear Statistics New Zealand,
I would like data on the time lag between date of death occurrence and date of death registration for the NZ population.
Any data you have would be appreciated.
I am trying to work out the average lag for pre-2020 years and if this has changed since 2020.
Yours faithfully,
R Bailey

Further to our acknowledgement of your Official Information request below, this is to advise Stats NZ is currently consulting with the Department of Internal Affairs (DIA) to determine whether they would accept a transfer of your request.
Unfortunately, I have been advised by our Subject Matter area we do not hold the exact data you are after, and for this reason, we must refuse your request under section 18(e) of the Act.
