Informed Consent #26 - Vaccine-Associated Enhanced Disease (VAED)

Annie Weston made this Official Information request to Ministry of Health

Response to this request is long overdue. By law Ministry of Health should have responded by now (details and exceptions). The requester can complain to the Ombudsman.

From: Annie Weston

Dear Ministry of Health,

Regarding the Risk Management Plan for Comirnaty:

https://www.medsafe.govt.nz/COVID-19/Com...

It lists important potential risks including vaccine-associated enhanced disease (VAED) and vaccine associated enhanced respiratory disease (VAERD).

VAED occurs when an individual who has received a vaccine, develops a more severe presentation of that disease when subsequently exposed to that virus, compared with when infection occurs without prior vaccination.

However on the NZ Data Sheet for Comirnaty there is no mention of these risks.

https://www.medsafe.govt.nz/profs/Datash...

Questions:

1) Why are these risks omitted from the data sheet given to the public?

2) By now there is a year’s worth of real world data on VAED which could explain the prevalence of breakthrough Covid-19 deaths in highly vaccinated populations like Gibraltar and Israel. Could I please have a copy of all data the Govt has received to date on VAED and VAERD worldwide.

Yours faithfully,

Annie Weston
