I refer to your request of 3 November 2021. The University’s response
follows:

 

“Would you please advise the exact amount of funds you have received from
Pfizer from January 2019 until the current date broken down into date and
amount as well as the study/grant/funding summary.”

 

$54,184 NZD was received from Pfizer Australia Pty Limited for a 2018-2020
research project entitled “Fish oil in obese pregnancy for metabolic
protection of the offspring”. This work was carried out by the
University’s Liggins Institute.

 

$99,400 NZD was received from Pfizer PFE Private Limited for consulting
services, specifically in the form of a LMIC COVID-19 survey. This work
was carried out by the National Institute of Health Innovation in the
University’s Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences.

“Would you also confirm the amount of the grant Pfizer were pulling due to
the Government refusing to subsidize one of their drugs for use, as
recently reported in the media.”

 

The University is unaware of any confirmed funding being withdrawn by
Pfizer for any reason. This technically constitutes a refusal of this part
of your request under section 18(g) of the Official Information Act, as we
do not hold the information requested.

 

You have the right to make a complaint to an Ombudsman if you are
dissatisfied with this response.
