Thank you for your email of 14 October 2021 requesting, under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act), information about the risks associated with district court files being paper-based.

The Ministry of Justice extended the timeframe for responding to your request on 8 November 2021 and indicated it would respond by no later than today, 27 January 2022.

The Ministry has decided to grant your request but due to unforeseen circumstances, will respond by no later than 28 January (tomorrow) or later today if at all possible. I apologise for the inconvenience.

You have the right under section 28(3) of the Act to complain to the Ombudsman about the decision to extend the time for responding to your request. The Ombudsman may be contacted by emailing [email address].
