Number of vials of Pfizer covid 19 vaccine that have been destroyed
Mark Paulson made this Official Information request to Ministry of Health
Response to this request is long overdue. By law Ministry of Health should have responded by now (details and exceptions). The requester can complain to the Ombudsman.
From: Mark Paulson
Dear Ministry of Health,
Please tell me how many vials of the covid 19 vaccine that you have purchased from Pfizer have had to be destroyed or otherwise disposed of because they cannot be used. The period covered by my request is for this calendar year up to and including 30 September 2021, or any later date if you have more recent information available.
I understand that each vial can provide 6 doses of vaccine, please confirm this is correct and if not how many doses are in each vial.
Please advise the number of vials destroyed for each reason, eg: past its expiry date, been out of cold storage for too long, etc, and how many vials wee full vials and how many were partiallly full(and if known how many doses were disposed of).
Yours faithfully,
Mark Paulson

Dear OIA Requests,
You are required by law to have responded to my request for information by now. You have responded by effectively saying that you are going to release some of the information I asked for at some point in the future by posting info on a website. That is not an adequate response under the OIA. If you have the information available now, p,ease release it directly to me. I have no issue with you subsequently or even contemporaneously publishing the response on a website, but I asked for the information to be provided to me, the least you can do is actually send it to me. Please send me the information you admit you have to me now, and please do not 'start the clock' on this request, as it is not a new request it is simply me asking you to immediately respond and provide me with the information you clearly have that I asked for in my first request. If I do not receive a very prompt response including the information I will be forced to complain to the ombudsman.
Yours sincerely,
Mark Paulson
