Reserve Bank of New Zealand

Dear Mr Huang,

Thank you for your below request. We will endeavour to respond to your request as soon as possible and in any event no later than 2 November 2021, being 20 working days after the day of your request. If we are unable to respond to your request by then, we will notify you of an extension of that timeframe.

The OIA allows charges to be imposed for the preparation of information that we send in response to requests. The Reserve Bank is resourced to meet disclosure obligations for a reasonable level of requests. Where the request is for information that requires substantial collation, research and preparation work, and is chargeable, we will work with you first to refine the request to a smaller scale or scope that is less likely to involve charges. I do not expected any charges to relate to your request.

Responses to official information requests are published on the Reserve Bank’s website. We will confirm in our decision letter to you whether we intend to publish our response to your request.

Further information about charges and publishing responses is available on our website at www.rbnz.govt.nz/research-and-publicatio....

Reserve Bank of New Zealand

Dear Mr Huang

Thank you for your request dated 4 October 2021 to the Reserve Bank of New Zealand - Te Pûtea Matua made under the Official information Act 1982 (OIA) 2021. You requested:

[...] hiring data, broken down for each year between 2011 and 2021.
- Number of new positions established in each department, and each profession (legal counsel, analyst, economist, manager, etc)
- Number of job vacancies listed (split between internal vacancies and external vacancies) for each department, and for each profession.

The OIA requires that we advise you of our decision on your request no later than 20 working days after the day we received your request. Unfortunately, it will not be possible to meet that time limit and we are therefore writing to notify you of an extension of the time to make our decision as provided for under section 15A(1)(b) of the OIA. We are extending the timeframe by ten working days, to 16 November 2021. This extension is necessary because consultations necessary to make a decision on your request are such that a proper response cannot reasonably be made within the original time limit.

You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of this decision. Information about how to make a complaint is available at www.ombudsman.parliament.nz or freephone 0800 802 602.

Yours sincerely

Ross Francis
Ministerial and OIA Advisor
