How the Regional Land Transport Programme has considered the transport disadvantaged

Anatole Sergejew made this Official Information request to Auckland Transport

The request was partially successful.

From: Anatole Sergejew

Dear Auckland Transport,

Section 35 of the Land Transport Management Act 2003 requires Auckland Transport (AT) to consider the needs of persons who are transport disadvantaged when preparing any programme or plan. Appendix 6 of the AT Regional Public Transport Plan 2018-2028 identifies groups more likely to be transport disadvantaged in Auckland, including:
1. people with low income,
2. new immigrants and
3. high deprivation neighbourhoods.
Could you please advise how and the degree to which the current Auckland Regional Land Transport Plan including the Regional Public Transport Plan has identified and considered the needs of transport disadvantaged persons from these three groups.

Thanking you in anticipation

Yours faithfully,

Anatole Sergejew

Dear Auckland Transport,

Could you please respond to my OIA request regarding the transport disadvantaged.

I need this information for a presentation I am to scheduled to give at the 2021 Traffinz conference.

It would be unfortunate if all I can say about AT in my presentation is that there was no response to my information request.

Yours sincerely,

Anatole Sergejew

Kia ora Anatole

We need a bit more time to work on your case.

The LGOIMA requires that we let you know our decision on your request no
later than 20 working days after the day we received your request.
Unfortunately, it won’t be possible to meet that time limit and we are
therefore letting you know of an extension of the time to make our
decision to 24 December 21.

We need this extension because your request necessitates a search through
a large quantity of information and meeting the original time limit would
unreasonably interfere with our operations.  Therefore, a proper response
cannot reasonably be made within the original time limit.

We'll tell you what we've found and what the next steps are by 24 December
2021.

Remember, if you need to provide us with more information or if you have
any questions, you can simply reply to this email leaving the subject line
as it is.
