Ministry for Ethnic Communities- OIA2122-0019
john luke made this Official Information request to Department of Internal Affairs
The request was successful.
From: john luke
Dear Department of Internal Affairs,
Thanks for your recent response, OIA2122-0019
In your response you said “you have sought nominations from relevant government agencies for membership to a Ministerial Ethnic Communities Advisory Group” may I ask the name of agencies you sought nominations from and how you ask for the nominations? The copy of these communications- such as email would be helpful. Also, since the new Ministry has been established, are there any future communication or discussion around this Advisory committee? Further, has the new Ministry has any future plan in setting up any new committee/ board etc?
Yours faithfully,
john luke

Dear Ministry for Ethnic Communities,
Thank you for your reply. I noted, "Regarding Part 1 of your request, although recommended candidates for the proposed MECAG were provided by several Ministers and agencies, the Ministry for Ethnic
Communities does not hold a record of all agencies approached for nominations. I am
therefore declining this part of your request under section 18(e) of the Act. "
I don't agreed with the declined. I fully understand you don't hold all the information, I am happy for your to provide whatever you have on file.
Yours sincerely,
john luke

Dear Martine Udahemuka,
I noted you have said " does not hold a record of all agencies approached for nominations." so you must at least have something right? or you mean you don't have anything. If you indeed don't have anything, then of course you don't have the information I would like to request. However, by reading your sentence I felt what you are implying here is you don't have all but did have some, hence I am asking, just send me whatever it is available.
Yours sincerely,
john luke
