Overseas Pensions

Robert Latimer made this Official Information request to Minister for Social Development

The request was successful.

From: Robert Latimer

Dear Minister of Social Development,

Please tell me whether the employment contract of the Chief Executive of the Ministry of Social Development contains a clause or clauses that, either directly or indirectly, base performance evaluations or financial bonus payments on the amount that the total New Zealand Superannuation payout is reduced by the direct deduction of overseas pensions under section 70 of the Social Security Act 1964.

I am not requesting details, I just want to know whether such clauses exist.

Yours faithfully,

Robert Latimer

From: Robert Latimer

Dear Minister of Social Development,

You have not, as required by law, responded to my request made under the Official Information Act on April 2 2014.

As you know, that Act provides a maximum time for responses to requests and that time has now been exceeded.

If I don't receive a reply within five working days, I will file a complaint with the Ombudsman.

Yours faithfully,

Robert Latimer
