Dear Matthew

I refer to your below request pursuant to the Official Information Act 1982 to Hon Michael Wood, Minister of Transport, on 22 June 2021.

This email is to notify you that we are extending the 20 working days available to respond to your request, pursuant to section 15A of the Official Information Act. We require up to an additional 13 working days to respond to your request. Therefore you can expect to receive a response by 6 August 2021.

The reason for the extension is that consultations necessary to make a decision on the request are such that a proper response to the request cannot reasonably be made within the original 20 working-day limit.

You have the right under section 28(3) of the Official Information Act to make a complaint about the extension to the Ombudsman.

Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding

Ngā mihi

Dear M Wood (MIN),

Thank you for your interim response.

Under the OIA, please also advise who the consultations are with, what they are about, why they are necessary, and why they will take another two and a half weeks, on top of the four weeks maximum specified in the law.

Thank you.

Yours sincerely,

Matthew Hooton
