The Nelson Marlborough District Health Board acknowledges receipt of your
request for Information under the Official Information Act 1982 (“the
Act”), received on 1 June 2021.

The Ministry of Health has only partially answered this. I have been
redirected to each DHB to provide additional information.

Please could you provide all information you may have regarding the
effects on aeromedical transfer of patients caused by Wellington Airport's
night-time runway closures during 2020-201

Particularly:

- The number of patients affected (who could not be transferred, were
taken to other airports, or transfer was delayed) & assessment of any harm
caused to them
- Any assessment of the financial cost to Nelson Marlborough's aeromedical
services caused by Wellington Airport runway closures

We refer to your official information request received by Nelson
Marlborough DHB on 1 June 2021.

 

The Official Information Act requires that we advise you of our decision
on your request no later than 20 working days after the day we received
your clarification. Unfortunately, it will not be possible to meet that
time limit and we are therefore writing to notify you of an extension of
the time of an additional 10 working days to make our decision, to 14 July
2021.

 

This extension is necessary because, and as specified under Section
15A(1)(b) of the Official Information Act 1982, ‘consultations necessary
to make a decision on the request are such that a proper response cannot
reasonably be made within the original time limit’.

 

On behalf of the responding services, we will endeavour to respond to your
request as soon as reasonably practicable.

 

You have the right to seek an investigation by the Ombudsman of this
decision. Information about how to make a complaint is available at
