Dear Mr Cole,
I refer to your request of 24 May 2021 for information about the
University’s ENGGEN 121 course in S1 2020. The University’s response
follows:
“Would you please provide:
1. The SET course report for ENGGEN 121 in Semester 1, 2020 in PDF and
HTML form.”
SET course and teaching evaluations were replaced with Online Learning
Evaluations for all students in Semester One and Quarter Two, 2020, and
for online students only from Semester Two, 2020. The document requested
cannot be provided as it does not exist. This constitutes a refusal of
your request under section 18(e) of the Official Information Act 1982 (the
Act).
“2. The OLE (Online learning) equivalent report in PDF form for ENGGEN 121
in Semester 1, 2020 in PDF and HTML form.
3. Anonymised SET and OLE responses and feedback for ENGGEN 121 in
Semester 1, 2020 in a CSV or Excel format.
4. Anonymised SET and OLE responses and feedback for ENGGEN 121 in
Semester 1, 2020 in a CSV or Excel format that maintains the relationship
between responses to individual questions and the responder. If this
request is also met by the response to (3), this request can be
disregarded.”
Your request for SET responses is refused under section 18(e) as, for the
reason stated above, these do not exist. Your request for the OLE report
and OLE responses and feedback for ENGGEN 121 S1 2020 is refused: (a)
under section 9(2)(g)(i) of the Act to maintain the effective conduct of
public affairs through the free and frank expression of opinions to
members of the University in the course of their duty; (b) under sections
9(2)(ba)(i) & (ii) to protect information subject to an obligation of
confidence; and (c) to the extent that the OLE responses/feedback contain
personal information about the teaching staff for ENGGEN 121 in S1 2020,
under section 9(2)(a), to protect their privacy.
“5. The grade distribution for ENGGEN 121 in Semester 1, 2020 in a CSV or
Excel format. Note that I am requesting the distribution before any grade
bump or aegrotat is applied."
The requested information is attached.
You have the right to make a complaint to an Ombudsman if you are
dissatisfied with this response.
Yours sincerely,
Rebecca Ewert
