    Dear Auckland Transport,
Has AT done any traffic modelling or analysis of the impact on traffic congestion and/or carbon emissions of the proposed roading changes in Mission Bay? If so, can I please have a copy of any reports or results?

    Kia ora R Jones,

My name is Cameron and I’m a LGOIMA Business Partner at Auckland
Transport. I’m responsible for looking into the official information
 request you made on 18/05/2021.

As your request is for information that is not available straight away, we
need to treat it as an official information request. This means that we
follow the rules of the Local Government Official Information and Meetings
 Act 1987 (LGOIMA)

 Update
I have spoken with our business unit and from my understanding
that Mission Bay was highlighted for safety improvements due to the number
of death and serious injuries. To assist with the safety improvements a
number of surveys were undertaken. This included pedestrian surveys to
determine the number of pedestrian movements. As part of the speed
management programme there is a monitoring and evaluation plan. This will
monitor the effectiveness of the safety improvements including the impact
that it has on the adjacent roads.

Also Waka Kotahi (NZTA) sets out the standard practice, modelling for
carbon emissions is not a requirement. Because of this we are unable to
supply you with the requested information and need to refuse the request
under section 17(e), as the information does not exist.
Please let me know if you would like to discuss this. If you need to
provide us with more information relevant to your request or you have any
questions, simply reply to this email leaving the subject line as it is.
We’ll make sure this information is added to your case.
Should you believe that we have not dealt with your request appropriately,
you are able to make a complaint to the Office of the Ombudsman in
accordance with section 27(3) of the Act and seek an investigation and
review in regard to this matter.
