In 2013, changes were made to the Water Conservation Order on the Rakaia river. If possible, I would like access to
a) any information provided by the Ministry to the Minister relating to changes to the WCO
b) any information provided by the Ministry to any other Minister relating to changes to the WCO
c) any information provided by the Ministry to Cabinet relating to changes to the WCO

On behalf of the Ministry for the Environment, I acknowledge receipt of your email of 18 March 2014, requesting the following information under the Official Information Act 1982 (OIA):

'a) any information provided by the Ministry to the Minister relating to changes to the WCO
b) any information provided by the Ministry to any other Minister relating to changes to the WCO
c) any information provided by the Ministry to Cabinet relating to changes to the WCO'

The scope of your request captures information provided to Ministers by the Ministry for the Environment relating to the 2013 changes to the Water Conservation Order on the Rakaia River.

This information relates most closely to the functions and responsibilities of Hon Gerry Brownlee, as he is the Minister Acting for the Minister for the Environment in matters relating to Central Plains water. I have therefore transferred your request to Minister Brownlee for consideration and response, in accordance with section 14 of the OIA.

Your request will be considered according to the provisions of the OIA. You will receive a response as soon as is reasonably practicable.
