Dear Mr Francis

I refer to your request below under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act) relating to a 1 News story broadcast on 14 May 2021 entitled "Health professionals sign letter with misleading claims around Pfizer's Covid vaccine".

You have sought "... a copy of the the [sic] letter referred to in that news report. Please provide me with all information about the letter, including the allegedly misleading claims around the Pfizer vaccine.

We are unable to provide the information requested on the grounds set out in s18(g) of the Act - specifically, that the letter requested is not held by TVNZ.

Dear Television New Zealand Limited,

On 14 May 2021, Television 1 reported that some doctors have "signed an open letter that seemingly shares some misleading claims around Pfizer's Covid-19 vaccine".

Please provide me with a copy of the the letter referred to in that news report. Please provide me with all information about the letter, including the allegedly misleading claims around the Pfizer vaccine.

Please note that information supplied to vaccinators during their training includes: "A few groups of people should not get the [Pfizer] vaccine, and some others should consult with their doctor or follow special procedures". According to information held by Television 1, which groups should not get the vaccine, and who should consult with their doctor or follow special procedures? What special procedures should be followed?

Given the public interest in the rollout of the vaccination programme, please treat this request with some urgency.
