I am aware that the Ministry of Justice recently released statistics on crime against Maori:
Could I please make an OIA request for the following information:
1) The number of criminal offences committed against Maori in the 2020 calendar year (if 2020 is not available: 2019, please), broken down by the ethnicity of the offender (New Zealand European, Maori, Pacific, Asian, other).
2) Alternatively, if 1) is not available: The number of Maori victims of criminal offences in the 2020 calendar year (if 2020 is not available: 2019, please), broken down by the ethnicity of the offender (New Zealand European, Maori, Pacific, Asian, other).
If the information under 1) and/or 2) is publicly available, could I please be provided with a weblink.

are seeking is not held by the Ministry of Justice we are therefore
refusing your request under section 18(e) of the OIA as the information
does not exist.
We approached NZ Police with a request to transfer under Section 14 of the
OIA however they have declined to accept this transfer.
