“Can I please have statistics on the number of travelers entering nz in
the following categories since Jan 1 2021.

1) nz citizens or permanent residents

2) long-term (>6mths) visa holders

3) short- term (e.g. visitor/ tourist) visa holders

For categories 2 and 3, please also supply details on the nationality of
the travelers (e.g. passport traveled on).”

I am writing to you regarding a request you made on 3 April 2021 under the
Official Information Act 1982 (the Act).

 

You requested for statistics on the number of travellers entering New
Zealand in the following categories since 1 January 2021:

1.       New Zealand citizens or permanent residents

2.       long-term (>6mths) visa holders

3.       short- term (e.g. visitor/ tourist) visa holders

For categories 2 and 3, you requested Immigration New Zealand to also
supply details on the nationality of the travellers (e.g. passport
travelled on)

 

INZ gathers statistics on how many people come and go from New Zealand,
the reason for their visits and the visa types they entered in. This
information is publically available on our INZ website.

 

Could you please go on the link below and confirm whether or not the
information you require is on available online.

On our website people can also use the Migration data explorer which is a
tool that allows you to find information such as nationalities of the
people coming into New Zealand.
